Marina Bay Sands - Raffles Hotel. Opposites attract
So no more Lake Garda adventure. Only a couple of weeks ago I decided I wasn't going to put up with another winter in Meran so I booked a flight to Sydney, my old love. On my way to Australia I had a stop-over in Singapore.
I can only recommend you to do so too if you ever have the chance, Singapore Airlines offer some good short stay packages from time to time and Singapore is an amazing city, growing, changing and expanding all the time.
To give you an idea I picked to buildings of the city. The ultramodern Marina Bay Sands Hotel with the famous rooftop pool and the traditional Raffles Hotel where a Singapore Sling is a must.
Enjoy a mix of photos of these two historical landmarks.
The Marina Bay Sands opening was 2011 and it is huge just think they have over 2500 rooms and an endless list of attractions. One you may know is the Skypool, a gigantic rooftop pool wich spans across the three towers. What can I say it looks like an alien structure. Breathtaking!

The Raffles Hotel on the other side is a colonial style building from the 1887 with three floors a wonderful courtyard. The Raffles has 103 suits and the arcades with the classic luxury brands. The Singapore Sling a cocktail was invented in the Long Bar at the Raffles and as you may can imagine it was another favorite spot of Ernest Hemingway.
